Explore Where the Money for Higher Ed in the CARES Act Might Go

The American Council on Education conducted a simulation of the distribution of emergency funds for every institution of higher education from the $2-trillion relief package passed by Congress last week. The bulk of the nearly $14 billion that will go to higher education will be allocated to institutions based 75% on their enrollment of full-time equivalent Pell Grant recipients and 25% on their enrollment of full-time equivalent non-Pell Grant recipients.

This clickable bar chart shows the states, types of institutions, and specific colleges that would get money under the law. These amounts are preliminary, best guess estimates. The final amounts have yet to be determined by the Department of Education. (Search and sort the data by institution here.)
